I find it impossible to invent anything half so true or touching as the simple facts with which every day life supplies me. ~ Louisa May Alcott

The Apple....
My mom has a problem with calculators. She is forever misplacing them. I have teased her that when she dies, and my brother and I are cleaning out her house, we will probably find 50 of them, and that will be our inheritance. I, too have a similar problem with thermometers. I can never find one when it is needed. I have even taped them to the sticks you use to stir paint, and they still disappear. I LOVE taken my kid's temperatures when they are sick - it is my thing. A sign of reassurance that all is well and on the mend, or an indicator that I was right - they are officially sick and not just cranky little beasts. Ali is being a cranky beast and felt warm today - where oh where is my thermometer? We had to go to Target so I picked one up, brought it home, opened it up and checked her temperature. Well, as I was cleaning up the kitchen I found a thermometer hiding near the toaster oven. I have no idea why it was there, so don't ask.I now have four thermometers in the house, somewhere! Oh, and Ali? Just a little temp, but enough to rouse the beast!
